About Melanie Asplund

I began my Real Estate career in March of 2013. Before starting my career in Real Estate, I had a one-woman renovation business which I absolutely loved. I have an eye for detail and the know-how to get things done. I did everything from building decks to renovating kitchens and bathrooms and every little thing in between. I still take on the occasional job. This knowledge has helped in my real estate career as I am able to point certain things out to my clients and make recommendations as to what my clients can do with the space in their new homes to make it "theirs".

I have the drive and self-motivation to get things done. I am very passionate about Real Estate and helping my clients have the best possible real estate experience. I strive to go above and beyond what is expected of me with my clients and other members of the industry and to make my clients home buying experience as stress-free as possible.

I have always believed that education is important and will only make me a better REALTOR. I achieved my Associate Brokers License in January 2016, the SRS (Seller Representation Specialist) Designation in December 2017 & the ABR (Accredited Buyer Representative) Designation in January 2018. I belong to two Real Estate Boards, CARA (Central Alberta Real Estate Association), and in 2015 joined CREB (Calgary Real Estate Board). On January 1, 2020, I started my first 3-year term as a Director with CARA. I am also on two professional committees through CARA. The Education Committee where different educational courses are put together and offered to fellow Realtors. The other committee is the Social Committee, which as a Director, I Chair.

In February of 2020, I sold my large acreage in James River and bought a beautiful home in the Town of Olds. I do so much business in all of the surrounding towns and counties, this just made the most sense, being that it is so central. Ten days after I took possession, the world shut down with COVID-19. This gave me the time to do the majority of the renovations that I wanted to do. April rolled around and Real Estate sales exploded! I hit the ground running and haven't looked back. I have met so many amazing people and families in my real estate career. And might I add, lifelong friends, both personally and professionally.

In my spare time, I enjoy... who are we kidding. I have no spare time because I work so hard for my clients. Which I absolutely love and live.
